If you enjoy beef and tend to order classic beef dishes, such as beef curry, when you go to a Chinese restaurant, you'll be aware that beef is a popular meat in Chinese cuisine. It's often marinated or paired with a rich sauce, which results in tender meat that's full of flavour. If you'd like to try a meaty dish that's a bit different from what you'd typically order, look out for these must-try Chinese beef dishes:

Sichuan Beef

Sichuan beef is a fiery dish that consists of thin strips of beef marinated in rice wine and soy sauce. The beef is then fried in sesame oil with garlic, ginger, red chillies, bell peppers, carrots and a little cornflour. Sichuan beef is served with steamed rice and garnished with spring onions and sesame seeds, which add a little crunch to each bite. This is a hearty, warming dish that's delicious with fresh greens and can be enjoyed for lunch or dinner.

Daikon And Tomato Beef Stew

Daikon and tomato beef stew is the perfect winter warmer and is packed full of fresh flavours. Daikon is a white radish that's popular in Chinese cooking and tastes like a milder version of the common red radish. This stew uses cubed beef flank that's slow-cooked with tomatoes, ginger, onion, carrots, daikon radish and a light stock. The stock is seasoned with star anise, dried orange peel and cinnamon, and the finished dish is garnished with fresh coriander.

It's a popular dish across southern China and consists of thinly sliced beef that's marinated in rice wine, sesame oil, soy sauce and a little sugar. The beef is then stir-fried with bean sprouts, garlic, ginger, baby corn, black bean sauce and oyster sauce before the noodles are added to the pan. Beef chow fun is a moreish dish that will satisfy any noodle craving.

Sesame Ginger Beef

Sesame ginger beef is a stir-fry dish consisting of tender beef strips and lightly cooked green beans. The beef is seasoned with black pepper before being fried with minced ginger and onions. Rice wine vinegar and whole green beans are added for the last couple of minutes of cooking time and the dish is served with a garnish of sesame seeds. Sesame ginger beef can be eaten with rice or served alongside steamed greens and dumplings.
